On any metal wall cladding job the flashings do the real work of keeping water out. New Zealand's Building Code clause E2 (external moisture) is why cladding relies on properly formed cappings, closers and flashings at every junction, penetration and opening — the panels shed the weather, but the folded trims manage it at the edges.

We fold flashings and trims to suit your cladding detail, whether you are working to a designer's drawing, a manufacturer's system detail, or a profile you have used before. Head flashings, sill flashings, apron trims, soakers and back-flashings can all be folded to your dimensions and colour-matched to the cladding.

Where a job calls for a specific colour or a finish that is not available in pre-painted stock, we powder coat cladding trims and flashings in-house. That means you can have folded aluminium or steel trims finished to a colour that matches the panels, the joinery, or the rest of the building. Colorsteel is also produced in grades intended for tougher, more marine-influenced environments. Architectural cladding is where a folding shop earns its keep. We fold to designers' details and deliver panels and trims that are true to the drawing.

For commercial and construction projects we can fold the cladding, the matching flashings, and the associated rainwater goods, then powder coat the trims to a specified colour — all from one workshop and one purchase order. That keeps the facade consistent and takes a layer of coordination off the main contractor.

Architects and specifiers are welcome to send drawings early for buildability input on flashing and trim details before a schedule is finalised.
